GADCO Proudly Presents
"ROTRAUT SCHROTT" Master Doll Artist

Rotraut Schrott
Rotraut Schrott
GADCO proudly presents the talented Artist, Rotraut Schrott of Munich, Germany. Creativity accompanied Rotraut Schrott since her childhood. As a small girl, she watched her father (Ludwig Adam, the very well-known Munich watercolor artist) work rather intensely. His love is portraiture, as is hers. She has always been fascinated by children's faces, their softness and roundness with a hint of future life and adventure.
She inherited the talent to model naturally from her paternal guide,\ orienting her artist dolls very closely to the laws of human anatomy. Meanwhile, the family works together on doll productions so that they can be admired two dimensionally. While Adam produces a refreshing cheerful painted portrait of each original, Rotraut's husband, Georg, photographs the dolls.

Martina

Martina-1988

Although her creations appeared in Germany in 1985 for the first time in an artist doll book, the triumphal procession of her "children" actually began in America. The Schrott's were telephoned one evening by The Great American Doll Company (GADCO) who wanted to bring a series of her dolls into the market.

In the country of unlimited possibilities, Martina was the first one to make a career. The brown eyed girl rose to stardom.

"Oh Martina, how mysteriously, exciting and serious you look."
a glowing admirer composed.

Martina was the first in a group of five dolls brought out on the market by GADCO under the title "Childrens' Souls are Fragile" in vinyl and in a limited edition bisque.
